Allowing of course that with the butt end cut off its heel this neck is never going back on a Strat. If Mr acousticrabies wants to keep it with the Tele body he aquired it on that's fine. Otherwise...

I didn't think about reissue necks, but as I said, someone would be crazy to sand down an American neck!

Nah its definately mexican. I can guarantee you 100% that its not a american neck. Its a 2007 too or the whole things a fake. The mexican deluxe series wasnt around in 97, the nuts original and is too clean to be that old. They yellow before anything else.

Theres no chance its american deluxe. Theres a fret missing.

My MIM 95 is MN5XXXXXX

So was 1998 the first year for mexican deluxe strats? I have a honey blonde 98 mim deluxe.

yeah the neck does play alright, although it looks a little goofy on the tele body haha

If it looks good, plays good, and you like it? Its all good then. $400 isn't bad, a little high for a Mexi strat, but still pretty darn good.

$400 isn't bad for what? i'm not sure what you're referring too

Couldnt a spacer be cut with relative ease?

It does look like a little bit too much has been taken off. Maybe to get it to fit a shorter scale guitar. Which as we know wouldnt work due to fret spacing.
