I'm hoping someone can help me. First off I know that it's uncommon to but a floydrose on a strat but I like them. I've bought a couple of the floyd rose classic strats in the 90's but they don't make them anymore. I've recently purchased a new american standard and I want to put a floyd rose on it. So my question is do they make a certain model floyd rose for strats? I thought fender use to sell one but I can't find any information.

Theres a MIM floyd rose strat isnt there.

Your far better off buying one of them than trying to mod an American Standard to do the job. You need to route the trem cavity out, and then find some way of installing the locking nut whilst keeping decent truss rod access. A set of locking tuners wont do the job and its not what they were designed for. They simply dont perform well in that application.
Theres no floating floyd style bridge thats a direct drop in swap over. Maybe Kahler do a cammed system that will mount on the top of the body. It doesnt get you round the locknut/tuning stability problem though.

I agree with the Ninja. Buy yourself a MIM floyd, they are really a great guitar. Installing a floyd rose on a american standard will leave you with hassle and buyers remorse. The qualit of the standard w/FR is good... trust me.

Thanks for the replies. I think I've come to a conclusion on what path I may take. I just made an offer on a U.S. Richie Sambora strat and looks like it's all gonna work out. However if anyone else has a suggestion please let me know. Again thank you for the help.

I'm right there with everyone else. Floyd Rose's are hard to mod from Fender tremolo. Most Floyd Rose necks have the truss rod at the heal of the guitar, not the head. You're better off finding one that's already there unless you want a parts caster and take the chance of ruining a perfectly good American Strat...
