Hi there,

I'm thinking of selling my 93 strat plus deluxe and was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of production numbers for different finish options?

Back when I bought it new I had never seen another one with a clear finish and bought it on the spot, I was wondering if the clear option was a rare finish for the plus deluxe that year, and if that made it any more or less valuable?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Adrian

PS Any idea what these are worth in general, it is basically unplayed, not so much as a fingerprint. I am the original owner.

I bought a 91 strat plus deluxe for $600, but I think that was an aweson deal. I think I see them on Ebay for usually about $1000.

I don't know what the product number for the color would be.

No it wouldn't be in the serial number, the model number would be something like 10-9500 and the color code would be like a 2 digit number I think, like 21 as an example.

I have an old strat plus manual, it list model numbers, but not color options.

As far as I recall, serial numbers have never reflected the colour in anyway no matter the brand. Usually the first 2 figures e.g. Z6 will denote the year of manufacture e.g. 2006/07. On Ibanez guitars, the letter usually represents the factory, for example an F9 ibanez rg550 will have been made in 89 at the Fujenyaki (??) factory in Japan. To ascertain the rarity of your finish, your best bet is to probably contact Fender directly, but, like I say, they might not actually be able to give you any more than approximation...

There's a clear strat plus on ebay right now. It's an 89, you can watch that and see what it ends at, and figure a little more for it being a deluxe.

Here's the link, I assume your finish is similar?
