What are some of your favorite Strat licks that you think others need to try out?

This morning Ive been playing around with Marvin Gaye's "Heard it Through the Grapevine" solo. Its a lot of fun.

I also really like Hey Joe.

For me I'd have to say the opening first solo on All Along the Watchtower and The beginning of Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) are fun to play and not all that complicated with a little practice. There's better ones than that for sure but those are fun for me.

Right now I'd say most of Texas Flood. Tons of cool licks.

I'm learning "Pride and Joy" and "Texas Flood". Nice grooves and licks in these songs. I use to fear trying to ply SRV but these days it doesn't seem as impossible which makes it fun.

Texas Flood, no doubt. Incredibly fast, furious, and beautiful.... The whole reason I wanted to play the blues!

Redhouse by Hendrix is a Bible on how to mix minor and major pentatonic licks besides having some of the greatest to have in your bag.

That is so true!!!! If anyone has ever listened to a newcomer, Davy Knowles of Backdoor Slam. He arguably plays the best verision of Redhouse I've ever heard. He takes Clapton, BB King, SRV, and Hendrix and turns out a 10 minute long solo that is unbelievable. Check him out on youtube. What's so amazing is he was 19 or 20 when he was flimed. Check it out!

Lately every time I pick up a guitar I play "man on the silver mountain"... fun riff to play.

One Rainy Wish,Castles Made of Sand,Axis Bold As Love and especially Little Wing and everything else on the Axis... album is the quintessential Strat tone moreso on the clean undistorted numbers.
