hi my strat, mim,, supposedly 1996 always semmed warmer than my other mim strat,, serial number descepency,, the serial number id chart says MN6+5 digits is a 1996 my strat,, has MN6+6 digits any clue why this is so ,, and what it may possibly mean?? thanks for the help.... rockin in Newhampshire

Check the serial number here: http://www.guitardaterproject.org/default.aspx and see what it says.

CA,,, thanks for the link,,, the site does recognize it as a 1996-97 but explains nothing about other mim strats having MN6+5 numbers i am looking right at mine and it has MN6+6 numbers... i am .. or would at least like to assume ,,,, {yikes} having one extra serial number,, could be anything i guess,, but the way this guitar plays compared to other mim strats hotter wound pickups?????????? idk,,,lol help me guess.... rock on,,,, Dave

its a definitive thicker warmer rounded out sound,, i have a 2002 mim strat and it is very thin sounding compared to this 1,,, runnin them through fender performer 1000;s hot rod deville 2x12 jackson 4x12
