I really wanted to get a couple of "family pictures" of my three strats and finally got around to digging up the old camera...hope you enjoy the pictures!

First a little info:

Red - new 09 Mark Knopfler sig series, hot rod red, texas specials pickups, mint green 3-ply pickguard. Great sounding guitar, not a position of the 5 that I would not use. I am not normally a fan of the bridge position, but it sounds so well rounded in this set. The pickups are very well rounded, not the biggest range of sound, but cover any sound I would want/need. This is my very first "real" strat, and I am completely in love with it in every way (well maybe not EVERY way  ).

Tobacco Burst - Robert Cray solid body, soft v neck, vintage specs, vintage frets, callaham bridge, klein s-5 scooped midrange pickups, locking fender tuners.

Natural - ash body, birdseye maple pickguard, trem cover, neck, and fretboard, all gold hardware, custom tuners, custom neckplate, meduim c neck with medium jumbo frets, gold fender tremolo bridge, lace sensor hot gold series pickups. Great pickups, but the bridge is a little too "quacky" so the 250k pot was replaced by a 500k.

Sweet family! 8)

Love the red but I'm partial to a white 4-ply pearloid. Think it would look killer on that red body.

The clear finished... to die for. :D

That ash strat is stunning. The other two aren't so shabby either. Those Knopfler strats really sing, don't they?

That natural finish must be the most beautiful strat I've ever seen. Looking at the birdseye neck and the custom pickguard, that has to be a Custom Shop. I've never seen such a remarkable guitar!

it's actually a partscaster with a robert cray body, took me a little while to get used to the vintage fretboard radius and soft v neck, but it's a pretty sweet sounding guitar!

the ash/bridseye is a partscaster as well, i spent 5 years collecting each every part exactly as i wanted it. not an actual "custom shop", unless the Ryan Custom Shop counts  the body is a collector series fender body with the thin skin finish. the pickguard and trem cover are real bridseye wood with just a natural tung finish

the MK strat is the epitomy of a sweet sounding guitar, the hot rod red is a very attractive color as well. i would recommend this guitar to anyone who can afford one, well worth ever penny.

Thanks for all the kind comments!

Ok, I have too many questions on the natural strat, but here it goes....

Where did you get the neck?
Where did you get the pickguard/rear plate?
Where did you get the gold control knobs?

And, if you don't mind, how much did you end up spending on that one of a kind???
