Post subject: Help with Tex Mex Strat questions, please?

I just picked up a minty Tex Mex Strat in black/maple. It is supposedly all original, 1997 model. Can anyone tell me the differences between this and the JV signature model, besides 1 ply guard, tone controls, etc? I'm wanting to upgrade it with one of Callahams vintage trems, and dont know whether to get the US vintage, or the Mex upgrade. What bridge is on these? does anyone remember?
Any cool trivia about this model would be appreciated

Does your Strat have a rosewood fretboard? If it does, that's probably the main difference.
