I' ve got tele knobs on my EC-1000 and put one on the volume pot of my wolfgang. They're near universal!

btw, i have a question. if i were to do the change on the am deluxe strat.
would the am deluxe tele knobs work with s1 switch?

I have no answer for that. Maybe Martian has some experience.

Just like their regular counterparts, the Strat has a split shaft pot whereas the Tele has a solid shaft pot. At best, the Tele knob on the Strat pot would wobble and never sit perfectly straight as the knob's side set screw would burrow in between the shaft's splines to some degree and/or simply mash some down. So, you'd either have to change the pot to a sold shaft or put some sort of thin metal sleeving over the shaft to make it 'solid' yet still accept the knob over it but even at this, the tubing usually warps from the pressure of the set screw and your back to the wobbling issue albeit, to a lesser degree due to the same spline issues. (How's that for a run-on sentence?) Of course, if you tighten the set screw, "finger tight", you will get away with it briefly under ordinary use until the knob starts freely, non-stop spinning (as if it were stripped) and once again, you're right back where you started.

That's interesting. I would have thought an S1 pot was an S1 pot was an S1 pot. So I guess he'd have to buy a Tele S1 pot and install it on his Strat to do a proper job changing the knobs. That would be a no-go if it were me.

Hey bluesstrattone,

I just had a thought. What do you think of the knobs on the AD QMT/FMT HSS Strats? That might be worth a look see for a kick. Those are Strat knobs. One would have to assume they'd fit your guitar without a hitch. They'd prolly only come in black though.

Here's the link from that other thread.

 that is a sweet, sweet guitar. yeah i like the tone knobs.
that ebony fretboard looks amazing. 1100 is not a bad deal for that guitar which i believe is now a discontinued item.
