this is from what i gather and i can best describe them.
txs specials have a little more top and bottom end.
are a little hotter, probably just about the level to th alnico 2s in hwy 1s.
at least to my ears.
dynamics are broader and thus harmonics would be clearer.

now this from occassional dabble with a guitar with texas specials. and am stds.

maybe someone has a better description of it.
not really looking for technicalities, just how do they sound to you.

Texas Specials have more bottom end and more grit.The American Standard is more vintagelike and better string balance .TS=more bottom end and less sparkly,AS=less bottom end ,sparkly and better balanced.Texas Specials to me make it easier to push your amp and sound sweeter with a good overdrive pedal.
