Well gents,
Here goes another sobb story where a guy with no funding wanders into a guitar store. As the story usually goes, he wanders over to the wall of Fender's, and before he knows it he is holding them, playing them, and inspecting them for scratches and dents. Everything is so nice. He is surrounded by love, sparks are flying. And then... reality hits. All he has enough money for is a new pickguard. Quickly distracting himself from what he really wants, he sneaks over to the pickguards and syphons through the selection.
Ok, so maybe by now, you have figured out that I am the guy in this little synopsis. I can't be the only one with this sickness though.
Heres some photos of the strat with the new anodized pickguard and black pup covers/knobs...

That looks really nice Mate....

I like the Gold Anodized Pickguard. It is very versatile fitting with most colours.

Nice change for the better I think!!!!

Here is my 84 MIJ with same pickguard.

Thankyou all, I am pleased everyone likes it.
I feel like I can abuse it with that bulletproof pg on there now. I am not to sure on the black plastic though, not that it matters much. :?
One of these days I will go in the store with new guitar money, until then my gas continues to build.

I can hand on heart honestly say I have no desire for a new guitar.

However, I wouldnt mind a half decent lespaul.

Thewood. How did your purchase go, do I remember right that your LP suffered the same troubles as the ones I tried. The binding coming away from the frets? I just cant bring myself to pay £1600 for a guitar with such a needless problem.

BTW love the gold.

Well Niki,
First off, I desire about 20 new guitars. So I envy your outlook! :D

I ended up with a Les Paul Supreme with a misaligned neck. The binding nubs on that were fine, but it did look like a problem waiting to mature.
Due to the crooked neck, I took that one back, and left with an r7. An r7 is a 57 reissue made by Gibson's custom shop. It has the nibs on the binding too, but the fret work is a cut above Gibson USA's and shows absolutely no gap between the binding and fret ends.
Features like but not limited too; long neck tenon, and lighter weight, non chambered mahogony bodies, are what set the Custom Historic line above lets say a regular Gibson Custom Black Beauty, or a Gibson USA. Keep and eye out for a nice reissue and your Les Paul woe's will be no more!
Heres a refresher..

Thanks Trauma. I have not forgotten about PRS's. I am just simply trying to ignore my attraction to them at this point!
