When I went in for my guitar lesson this evening, I spotted a display of the new American Special Stratocasters that had just arrived. The store owner let me use one for my lesson, and I have to say that I was very favorably impressed. It was Candy Apple Red, like this:

I loved the feel of the neck, and the Texas Special pickups sounded great. I may wind up picking one up. 8)

On the way out, I also checked out the new Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster Thinline. I didn't play it, but it was beautiful!

You done good, Fender! 8)

I love the extra punch I get from the Texas Specials in my strat!

Wow, very cool. I did not know about that new guitar. If that strikes your fancy, consider also the Squier Vintage Modified Thinline ...
that has the (preferable to me) 6-saddle bridge, and a fabulous neck with 7.5 in radius rw fretboard. It is a great guitar for the money.

Nah, I'm well-provisioned in the Tele department. But the new one really caught my eye. I'm more likely to snag that new Strat instead. 8)

+1!!!

I got to be the first one to take both the Strat and the Tele for a test drive when they showed up at the GC I work for in here in Vegas.

Great guitars and tremendous bang for the buck at only $799! Well done, Fender ...

The CAR is a beautiful guitar and the big headstock should give the sustain a boost.Gibson could never come close to that quality for $799.

I played the HSS 3-tone sunburst model at GC the other day. It was a very nicely done guitar for the price that it is. If I was'nt going for a Tele right now I would pick one up. I did'nt get to try the American Special Tele as it was'nt out on the floor yet. :(

Very Very nice for the price!!! Too bad they aren't making them Left Handed.
