Hmmmm...it's a little peculiar that your sustain block is up against interior of the body cavity and the back of the trem plate has not yet contacted the top of the body. Usually, there's body contact well before the sustain blocks hits anything.

The two posts screw into two bushings that are pressed into the top of the body. Sometimes the bushings work their way out. In that case, it's just a matter of tapping them into the body until they're seated. I should mention, that to do this efficiently, you'll want to de-string, and remove the trem unit.

This is how I make the adjustment.

"For a two pivot model such as the
American Series bridge, use your tremolo arm to pull the bridge back flush with the body
and adjust the two pivot screws to the point where the tremolo plate sits entirely flush at
the body (not lifted at the front or back of the plate)."

"If you prefer a bridge flush to the body, adjust spring
tension to equal string tension, while the bridge rests on the body (you may want to put
an extra 1/2 turn to each claw screw to ensure that the bridge remains flush to the body
during string bends). Caution: Do not overtighten the springs, as this can put
unnecessary tension on the arm during tremolo use."

If you're not able to make the bridge sit level with those instructions, you might have a warranty issue.

It would appear your posts are bottoming out in the holes for your brass inserts. You can drill the post holes abit deeper, using a smaller drill bit than the brass inserts.(post size) I would use a drill press if available and remove the inserts. You don't need to drill too deep, maybe 1/4" or less. You don't want to go through the body.

If you bought it new, as you stated earlier - take it back and let the dealer fix it! That way if something goes south, it's not on you.
