i noticed that a while back.
it looks like they took a body from one guitar, pickups from another and a neck from the last and photoshopped them all together.

edit: if you click on the guitar for the enlarged version it will show up the right way.

The 83 Standard Strat had the same control configuration but had a regular Jaguar type jack.I hope they don't intend to go back to that format.

Remember that limited edition made a few years ago like this? It was red. I don't remember if it was 1 vol 2 tone or 1 vol 1 tone. I think it was like for Musiciansfriend only.

The blackie looks almost like a miss post. The others were standard looking Strats and the specs mention a pickguard. The black one not only is missing a pot but doesn't seem to have a pickgaurd either. Direct mount to the body like the Showmasters and Stagemasters. Same knob and side jack configuration too. Maybe they posted the wrong pic in the ad? Or is a "traditional" Strat not available in black this year?

I like it.. We play a song where I have to palm mute the high B and E strings, and it can be a pain with the placement of the volume knob. But the black guitar looks like there's more space for your picking hand to accomplish it easier. It does remind me of a Showmaster.

Has anyone sent a little note to Brad about it? It is surely just a scripting error inserting the wrong image on that page. Probably the work of a minute or two to put it right - once he's recovered from all the fun of the fair...

Cheers - C

Hi Stratosj the 83 MIJ Standard wasn't like the one pictured,it had 22 frets a regular Strat pickguard but there was a regular jack right where the 2nd tone control should have been, they weren't popular because of their limited tonal capabilities.
