Maybe I missed it, but how did that "checking" project of yours turn out? I think last I saw it was in an oven? Just curious

The checking didnt turn out too well. I resorted to putting a light relic job on the guitar. When I feel up to it, I'll put some light checking into the paint with a razorblabe.

Here's the relic'ing. When its complete and I'm happy with it, I'll post the whole kit and kaboodle.
