alright, so i got myself a mim strat body from the 90's with a 60's neck and vintage trem. now i'm wanting to put dual humbuckers in it. like the big apple strat. the problem is i cant figure out what kinda of neck pickup i want and the pots. i got a screaming demon trembucker for the bridge, and now i dont know what kinda humbucker i need for the neck. and does the neck humbucker need to be f-spaced? i was thinking bout the 59' or JB. as far as pots, i thinking that i have to go with 500k, am i right? and what kinda switch would be best 5-way or a 3-way? also, what tone cap would work with this kinda of set up.

Alright, so welcome!

Alright, so I presume the vintage tremolo is a MIM one also. Believe it or not, you can get away with standard spaced HBs in both the neck and bridge with this. However, definitely go with a standard spaced for the neck.

Alright, so 500K audio pots all around, a three way switch and a .022 microfarad cap, don't worry about the rated voltage.

Alright, so the JB in the neck would overpower the Demon in the bridge and sound most 'fizzy'; the 59 in the neck would be way too muddy vs. the Demon in the bridge. Now, seeing that you're talking Duncans, I'd go with either a Jazz, a Pearly Gates or a Full Shred (in this order).

Alright, so.

I would suggest the Dimarzio Air Norton for the neck. It's a really smooth and articulate pickup, great for both clean and high gain. It won't overpower the screamin demon, either. It's very smooth sounding, but not tubby like a lot of humbuckers are in the neck. I prefer this humbucker over any other in Alder or Basswood bodied guitars.

Otherwise maybe consider the Duncan Jazz or '59 neck models. They sound great in strats.
