My favorite is my Strat Ultra in a rare Fire Storm finish. I had already tried a JB Strat, the one with the BIG neck, back in the early nineties. so when I saw an Ultra, w/ similar Lace Sensors, I knew it wouldn't sound bad. I bought it new in 1991 and it still sings!

I am having my old 1971 Strat updated, w/ new frets. I don't think you can have a bad sounding Strat. I'll update you later.

most of the strats I have owned or played from the late 50's to the late 60's. The 1988 plus I bought new and still have. the 1997 MIA roadhouse I have. and several I have owned from the mid 80's to the mid 90's. My 88 plus is just the kittins mittens to me.

My '07 Roadhouse is the best playing guitar i've ever picked up. The neck on it is gorgeous. So smooth and is a dream to play. I know a lot of people are put off by MIM guitars but she's my baby and suits me perfectly.

close to the same for me - another '54 reissue / style, my '54 CS 50th .

haven't played too many bad Strat's (including a defective RW EJ that sounded amazing)

My 50th AmSe. Strat, completely blew me away with the tone from that thing!

I ended up selling every other Strat I had at the time, and sold some I picked up afterwards.

Until '07,when I bought a '54 Thinskin,...

With these two in the house,..I haven't really looked for another Stratocaster since.

I had a '74 Strat for many years which I loved dearly, but sold. Yeah, I've regretted it ever since, but that's life. At the time, I had lots of medical bills, and it was the only thing I could sell quickly that was worth serious money. At least I still have my health! :)

My current one - an '06 Highway 1 - feels nicer to play (to me), but nothing I've played since sounds quite like that '74. It really was one in a million.

The best guitar I ever played was a Lowden.

The best strat I ever played, I dunno. Theyve all got their plusses and minus's. Like Blertes my favourite one of mine is based on a mid 90's MIM squier series neck. Dunno if its the best, but I like it. I cant for the life of me compare it to my other guitars, but its my favourite. As for other peoples guitars, its like wearing other peoples underwear. For all the wriggling and fidgeting it never seems to fit right.
