That's by far the worst idea I have evr seen in my entire life. The VG is one thing, but if a player is to much of a prat to not have the energy to tune his guitar than what's the point? An absolute monstrosity. Shame on Gibson.

Yetch, so much more to break.

And when the micro-servos pack it in the modern Gibson owners will have no clue how to manually tune their guitars or set the intonation.

I can see this progressing too, soon all Gibbons will just have 5 colored buttons on the neck and no strings.

yeah i agree whoever can't tune their guitar shouldn't be playing, but for performances it would be very convenient. i think it has it's place... i just don't see myself buying one in the future. innovative idea though.

I don't think you guys understand the purpose.

It's not so you don't have to learn to tune a guitar. it's so you can program it to instantly change tunings in performance.

Well, technology is always good and so is the little trick by Gibson, in providing auto-tune guitars. That I do appreciate.

What I don't, is the video which shows the Fender Guitar being killed ! And also the guy having a bath with the F on his hand, going nuts.

Gibson, that makes no sense and does not leave you in good stead.

Me? Not interested. Maybe I'm just old but it seems like bells and whistles for not much reason. Learn to tune and intonate your guitars yourself. Then buy a VG if you want instant tuning changes.

I see that the nearest one to me is in Paris, so I guess I'm safe to go in the shower ;)

I think it's kind of overkill on a 6 string , but on a 12 it might be nice to have. However, my experience with my Gibsons is that they go out of tune if the dog farts walking by them when they're sitting on their stands. My Fenders stay in tune no matter what I do playing or storing them. So it may be Gibson came up with this out of necessity! If you watch the videos the tuning changes aren't instantaneous, it takes the servos a while to retune the guitar. If you want an instant change get a VG.

While a guitar with such auto tuning capability has it's practical uses/applications; the down side is that it makes for a more complex guitar. Technology, such as this, is fine when it works - but, anyone of experience will tell you that devices of this nature, will fail at the worst possible time. Give me the strait forward utility of a Fender Strat anytime.

Take a look at the instruction video at the bottom. I can manually replace a string and retune faster than I could do all the button pushing required for Setting Tension< then Tuning, Intonating.

Buy some locking tuners and you could beat that "Thing" easily

gibsons are just ridiculous, my brother and i moved to a new house and we had to put our guitars in the storage, mine was a 1993-1994 mim strat and his was a gibson les paul classic, we had to put our guitars in the storage for about a month and when we came back his guitar had dropped tunings too something i had never heard of. then there was mine and i picked it up and stretched the strings with the tremelo and it was back in tune perfectly
