I just picked up a 1999 American Deluxe strat. It has the trans green color and maple fretboard. I was wondering what wood the body is likely to be, and what pickups came with it. Is there a difference between Noiseless and Vintage Noiseless pickups? It is a HSS, so what HB may be there?

Also, I sold my hardtail to buy this. What's the best way to block the trem if it gets on my nerves? Any suugestions or sites out there?

If the guitar has a teal green transparent finish, then the body is made of premium ash. Fender discontinued the teal green finish as of 2005 after offering that colour on the pre-2006 Highway One series guitars for a brief time in 2003.

Vintage Noiseless and Noiseless are the same pickups. In fact, your question refers to the gold "Noiseless" decal engraved on right bottom corner of the pickup covers.

As for the pickup config, this guitar is an American Deluxe Fat Strat (American Deluxe Strat HSS). The humbucker is a Fender DH-1 with Fender-spaced polepieces. The middle and neck pickups are two Hot Noiseless singles. Fender used the Hot Noiseless pickups on this guitar for proper balance with the humbucking pickup.

If your guitar is equipped with a Fender/Floyd Rose tremolo, your guitar would be an American Deluxe Strat HSS LT. If not, this is the "regular" Strat HSS model with the normal 2-point bridge and the pop-out whammy bar.

The Teal Green Transparent finish is nowadays available on some Factory Special Runs with the same DH-1 humbucking pickup, a pair of Hot SCN Strat pickups for proper balance and the S-1 switching system. These FSR American Deluxe models had a contoured neck heel, a feature your guitar doesn't have.

Various methods will be offered from tightening the trem claw screws to
mounting a block of wood between the trem block and the guitar body.

I dont use the trem hardly as i have enough to learn without it so i use the good ol block of wood method.

IMO ... Al
