single coil w/ 60 cycle hum custom shop 69s, texas special, 54/62

w/ 0 hum dimarzio area 58/67/61 virtual vintage blues, virtual vintage heavy blues.

single coil humbuckers.
seymour duncan everything pickup set which includes, a little 59 in the neck, duckbucker in the mid, and jb jr in the bridge.

or you can mix and match, let say texas special neck and mid, and seymour duncan hot rails in the bridge.

or area 58/58/61,

good luck, its a lot of fun searching for pickup combos, at least for me.

i would love to have seymour duncan everything pickup set , in at least one strat.
texas special neck and mid, and seymour duncan hot rails in the bridge.
and this in another, but i change my mind like i change underwear,
which is every saturday and sunday.

I suppose it depends on what you want to pay.

Money not withstanding, for Blues I love Van Zandt pickups. They make a limited variety that includes True Vintage, Vintage Plus, Blues, Rock. Sounds like the Blues version would do it for you. I've built some setups, with the Rock single in the bridge position, for flexibility. Hand wound in Texas. I learned about them from this really good guitar player I met in Austin. His name is Eric Tessmer and you can find a bunch of You Tube videos and some audio on their web site to hear what the pups sound like.

Click on the music and Videos link. If you like SRV you're gonna love this guy.

Tex Mex are a good cheap way to go. You get 60 cycle hum though. You can hear them in the Road Worn and Jimmy Vaughan Strats

If you want Traditional Noiseless, Fender Samarian Cobalt. You can hear them in the American Deluxe.

If you want Boutique Uniqueness, Rio Grande has a lot of buzz right now. Dust Hill uses them in his basses.

The aforementioned Lace Hot Golds are really fine pickups. Lace makes good stuff, as does Seymore Duncan.

Hard to go wrong with any of the stuff mentioned in this thread so far, specially any of the Fender Custom Shop Pickups.

Just use whats already in it, their perfectly adequate.

If you have to ask you obviously haven't heard one you think is better. Everyone elses opinion is pointless at that point.
