You guys familiar with these? Is it worth the price? He's local so that is why I'm asking.

I would shy away from that. A lot of things to be concerned about in that ad.

1) He bought an assortment of parts, it is a partscaster not a factory guitar.

2) The pickups are just random MIM's

3) He has all the parts but has decided not to assemble. This makes me wonder why.
Do they not fit? did he ruin anything?

You would just be buying a box of parts.

caveat emptor

I have one of those. I bought it new a couple years ago. I was not crazy about the pickups that it came with so I bought a set of Kinmans for it and now I love the guitar.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Wow thanks for the quick replies! What your best bet for the $450 price range other than Standard MIM.

The bridge in the photos is not even a Fender part. If it was going for $200, I might throw my hat in (just for fun). It could be a fun project, but not for $400+. MIM is about all you can get in that price range.

Don't buy this one, he states in the ad that he bought the parts to assemble one. So it's a partscaster not a stratocaster. You can find the real deal for 550 - 600 USD.

They are pretty Strats for sure, don't sound any different but they look real nice.

That's right. It is a Gotoh 510T-SS1 bridge:

As it happens, a perfectly nice piece of hardware and in one respect (adjustable turning tension on the arm) arguably better - but not a Fender.

This sale has now ended with no bids. Turns out the price was too high for a bag of parts - which will be a shock to the seller because he likely paid more than $400 for them...

Cheers - C
