The holes on my Highway One neck form the corners of a 2" x 1 1/2" rectangle but, from seeing photos only, the holes in a USA Deluxe neck pocket are at the apexes of a trapezium. I'm NOT planning to fit the Highway One neck to a deluxe body, but just trying to understand how the bolts attach the neck to the pocket. Is the one bolt(that's not at the corner of a rectangle) angled through the pocket into the corresponding neck hole? Thanks.

I've never seen the USA Deluxe but i think they shaved some wood
of the body for easier access to the higher frets.

ya i have a v-neck american deluxe and they have shaved off the corner of the little metal plate the four screws go in hold the neck on so it only has three

the lower screw that would be pointing toward the neck is gone to make the high frets easier to reach
