Has anyone noticed that the picture for "Black, Rosewood fretboard" in MIM Standard Stratocaster looks like it's rear-routed?
However, once you click it to enlarge the photo you get a different picture with a white pickguard.

Is that an error on Fender's part or does a rear-routed MIM Standard Strat really exist?

I suspect its a mistake. Now when I click on the picture a run of the mill standard appears instead of the beauty above. Also looking at it, it has the old silver logo. I'm sure the serial reads MN too.

That's too bad :?
It also has only 2 knobs...so I'm not even sure if it was a standard model.

A definate beauty. All it needs is a maple neck and it would be perfect.

It would be of great aid if anyone else could point us in the right direction as to the origins of this guitar. If it is a blast from the past.

There are so many beautiful MIM's that I wasn't even aware of in the past!

I remember one like this ages ago, except HSS with a flametop. Rear routed with 6 point trem.

They were a ltd edition.. 2006 or thereabouts
