Hey Guys,
As I watch what I am seeing on the television, it seems unreal. I am not Haitian.......but I am Human. This level of death and devastation is beyond my grasp. I feel horrible as I watch these people carry dead bodies through the streets with no where to take them. As I have just lost my Grandmother a year and a half ago, I cannot even contemplate what they are going through. My next door neighbor just moved from Haiti last month and I saw her just sitting outside numb...I asked how was her family in Haiti....she told me everyone is dead. She lost her mother, father, brother, two sisters...and numerous uncles and aunts. As members of this forum we are blessed to have what we have, and do what we do. If and when you get the chance go to any place in your local area that is getting supplies for the people there. Go to a firehouse donate FOOD & MEDICINE. That is what they need. We are going through some tough times in our country but NOTHING like what is going on in Haiti. We all have children and family members. Just imagine, being there right now. If you can't do anything in the way of donating today pick up that strat and play something for the people of Haiti. THAT is the least we can do.

Kevin Toliver-Lyons

That was true even pre-earthquake.

Thank You! There are local food drives going on all over the country. Help if you can.

Trauma you are a top bloke. My sincere condolences for your neighbour. That amount of loss is just unthinkable.. how you could you even begin to understand how someone would feel in that situation..

Donations of any kind are allways appreciated by the aid agencies, I gave too and I know it will make that little difference to someones day or life :)

I enjoy the Strat forum. I also enjoy camera forums. And sailing forums. And motorcycle forums. You know, where I can talk about Strats, cameras, sailing, and motorcycles.

Why is it there's always somebody on these topical forums who thinks they have to make an announcement and/or appeal regarding the latest disaster, as if everyone else on the forum wouldn't know or care about it already? Like all members of the Strat forum do is read the Strat forum 24/7 and don't have lives outside of it. Or hadn't already given. Or don't already feel deeply enough about it.

It's a Strat forum. About strats. C'mon.

C'mon man, are comments like this really necessary? All Trauma is trying do is help those people. I think its a good reminder to all of us of how lucky we have it. Those poor people need all the help they can get.

So your point is that nothing else bar strats should be discussed here ever.

Well if thats the case then I'm afraid you'll find majority rule dictates otherwise. The site moderaters certainly have no problem with it either. I suggest you give up on this forum if it doesnt meet your expectations, instead of making pedantic comments like some petulant kid.

Since your capable of basic grammar, punctuation, perhaps intelligent thought & debate- that comment really has thrown me, really.

If you don't like this forum, or the topics raised and/or the content or members, I'll put it simply since you may not understand common sarcasm. May I suggest you go elsewhere?.

As a matter of fact, we care about what everyone has to say, we respect it and we respect eachother and the topics raised, regardless of whether they get heated or not. If you can't be on the same page as us Fender forum members, then maybe you should read up on your 'sailing' or camera' forums.

Wow!!

This is a Strat/Fender player's community. I say community, because if you peruse the forum at all, you will see that we touch on a lot of different things that we are concerned with here. Not just Strats, and not just guitars either. It may have started out as just a place to discuss our Stratocasters, and although that remains it's main focus, it has evolved beyond that.

Certainly it is our main topic, and also what has drawn us all to this place, but it is not the entirety of our discussions.

You could easily have just not clicked on this topic, it is very clear from the title what the content of the post would be. I would like to expect a little more heart on a musician's forum. To ignore a tragedy of this scope would seem to me to be out of character for many of our members. there are many here who respect each others opinions, and some who have some form of direct connection to Haiti and it's people, this is one place where we connect with our "E-friends' so it is a place to discuss this.

Twelvebar, I couldnt have said it better. You struck a chord with me( ) on the community part, as that is what we are all a part of. We talk about strats, we help one another, we get off topic and all in good fun and antics so long as the original querie has been answered or discussed. This is how I guess we get to know one another. We all come from various backgrounds/walks of life, we have different cultures- but like allways as music is what we are passionate about- this has really brought us all together :)

Now, getting back to that chord... "E-friends" just wouldnt be the same without the "E" in it... So it's an E Major I think..or was that a minor..

sorry I guess that was a fairly poor attempt at humour

Thanks for the input about our community, once again another top bloke :D
