The neck plate on my MIM strat has two small stickers. One sticker is the initials CE. The other sticker oddly enough looks like a trash can with a X over it. I have seen these stickers on other neckplates at guitar stores. Does anybody have an idea what they represent?

I can only assume that the guitar contains materials that should be disposed of properly and not just thrown away. Perhaps the paint??

I think the trash can sign means don't throw it away, but i'm not sure.

The trash can and 'X' is another recycling symbol from the EU. It is called the WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) symbol.

This is funny.

I'd never seen that sticker/symbol before. The one on my new strat was upside down, so I couldn't figure out what it was. Eventually, I must have turned the guitar around and figured out what I was looking at. Do Not Throw This Guitar Away! Must be the lead solder!

The trash can (WEEE SYMBOL) means that this product should be recycled and not disposed of as general waste.

I think that it means that this is a Fender guitar and, as such, is not capable of producing a trashy sound! LOL
