I've had a white MIM Road worn strat for a few months now and I was wondering what bridge/saddles/whatever I could install on it to get some more sustain out of it. Right now the only thing I've done is put a graphtech nut and string tree on, other than that it's all stock. Also what would be a good set of pickups to install for blues? The tex-mex pickups are just a bit too bright for me

What are you playing through? A lot of times people move too quickly to tinkering with the guitar when they can most likely solve their problems by looking at their amplification first. Not to say that is what you are doing, but might be worth considering.

I'm playing through a re-tubed and corrected (factory issues...such as the insane volume jump, crappy plastic input jacks..ect...) Fender Hot Rod DeVille 4x10.
And as of late a Line 6/Bogner Spyder Valve 112.

Amplification issues are moot.

I can accurately and confidently make pickup suggestions.

That sounds like your treble trouble to me. Are you using a vox 4x12 with double coned speakers? Are you using the angled cab in a confined space?

Texmex pickups aren't that trebley, 69's are very trebley and definately not the solution to your problem. What exactly is it about the treble response you dont like? Is it too spiked, hollow, brash? Most issues can be cured with the treble and middle controls of any amp. Ok I know the ac30 is particularly dominant in the treble region but by upping the mids and lowering the treble and bass you should even out your tone a bit. It may be worth buying a cheap eq pedal to sort the problem out.

The single pickup positions just seem a bit too sensitive and bright, even the neck position seems to explode with treble if I strum a chord a bit too hard and usually have to play in the in-between positions. I'll mess around with the settings on the amp a bit more or maybe hook up a compressor pedal and see if that helps.

Playing through my cheap Line 6 amp right now and it they sound great, guess it's just an issue of me not being totally knowledgeable with my new amp.

I get some great blues tones from my Tex Mex pups in my MIM Std. But I keep the pups fairly low and tweaked my EQ settings to get it. It really works for me. Just a suggestion. Good luck with whatever you go with.
