Okay, so right now i have a Gibson SG faded and it sounds nice but i totally hate they feeling of the guitar its so stiff like of bends and the main part it is really hard to strum cords with idk why. its basically just my for single picking in my opinion. i want a guitar that can do really grungy styles and that has a nice feel it doersnt have to be fender and im probably expecting it to be used. my price range is just about 1000$ american guitars are godly but if its made in japan im fine because i hear those are better than mexicans correct? just i thank yall alot. when u suggest a guitar to me i will probly go out and play it and than. i put this on startocaster forums cause i know that u guys are very knowledgable thanks so much.

It's strange to hear someone complain about an SG being hard to play.I have an Eppy G400 Les Paul Custom that's basically a 3 pup SG and it's a dream to play.Maybe before buying another guitar you should try 1.Getting the action lowered 2.Going to a lighter gauge string 3.Having a Qualified tech do a complete set up ie. action,intonation etc. the cost would be much less than buying a new guitar.I don't understand at all what you mean by saying the guitar is hard to strum,in my 45 yrs of playing I've never heard that.The SG in my opinion is easier to play than a Les Paul,it should be a great guitar.

okay it has never been set up cause the original owner won it at a golf tournament. how much do set ups usually cost?

idk i have someone who might buy it so it might not be a good idea to set it up. what im saying is i like how fenders play a lot because i play my friends strat and les paul and they both seem smoother to me and its the sg faded so its not as good i like the standard but this one....eh i just gotta let it go i guess.

i got an idea!!! maybe i will sell the sg faded special to get a standard. its totally different feel, the necks are totally defferent does anyone have experience with a gibson sg standard?

Some good advice has been given here about getting the guitar setup. That said, Fenders and Gibsons are different breeds imo. The faded is a decent guitar, but Fender has a remarkable product line where I'm sure you'll find something to suit yourself. After years of playing all different "breeds" of guitars, the Stratocaster to me is just about perfect. YMMV

The best advice I could give would be to play every guitar in your price range that you can get your hands on! And when possible, do so thru your own amp or one similar to it. Good luck and happy shopping!

i think im probly going with a strat im the guy who actually bought the bc strat but i have to take it back tomorrow cause i souldnt pay off parents in time and i like the guitar but its too expensive for what it is. but if i find some cool do yall want me to post it to see what yall think?

and on this page as u see there is an american strat with lace sensor pickups and a nice darkish neck. what are lace sensors like? i have no experience with them
