I ordered one and it came with some finish blemishes. Sent it back and then they were on backorder. After 2 months I cancelled my backorder through the original supplier. I only had the blemished one for a short time, but I really liked it. After cancelling my order a few weeks went by and I saw they were in stock again. I called my original supplier to see if they would reactivate my order at the original price. They would not do it and I dont blame them, it was a 999.99 Fender Friday special at Musicians Friend. I let them off the hook by cancelling that order, so its my own fault. I had a situation once before where I placed an order on a Fender product and after 4 months it still hadnt arrived, so I thought this transaction was going the same direction. Anyway yes it is a great guitar and last week I worked out a deal with another supplier, although still not as good a price as I had originally, but still a great deal. It is yet again on backorder, but this time I dont care how long it takes to arrive. That guitar is worth the wait.

Bummer Randy but at least you got it anyway. I was going to say the MF deals during that period were the best I ever saw in my life as they blew out a lot of top shelf axes at half price. I really like the look and tone of the Kopfler. A very classy ax.

Yeah Straycat the looks of the guitar are what drew my attention first, but I also liked the way it sounded. I think the Texas Special pickups in the Ash body make a great combo. The one I sent back really resonates and sustains extremely well. I hope the new one will be just as good when it arrives.

:D :D :D :D

I can now say I have a new MK strat ordered, and it will arrive in 7-10 days!!!

So incredibly excited for this, I've never had a "real" strat before, my other guitars are partscasters (although very nice ones).

I will definitely post some pictures when it arrives!

:D :D :D :D

Randy1, do you recall how the neck on the M.K. was?

For almost 2 years now, I have been hoping that an instance of this model will show up in my local mega-stores for me to test-drive, because I am very interested in the 7.25-in. radius with Med-Jumbo frets on it, plus I love the fact that the body is Ash instead of Alder. But they never, ever get this model in stock, and I have never taken the risk of buying it online because I am just not familiar enough with what a '62 C Neck is like. (My fear is that it would be too thin for me: I like a real chunky, Nocaster type neck.)

The most desirable guitars rarely find their way to the wall. The walls are usually filled with MIM's, a few American Standards and the like.

Mike Toe,

What I remember most about the neck is that it was very comfortable for me. I'm alot more familiar with guitars that have a larger radius, but I had no trouble getting used to the 7.25. It seemed strange without the skunk stripe on the back of the neck, but it didnt really bother me. I didnt like the idea of having to remove the neck to adjust the truss rod, but even that wasnt enough to keep me from re-ordering the guitar. Thats how they built them back then. I felt like the overall thickness of the neck was fairly similar to current American Std. models, but I didnt measure it to be sure. I just know that it didnt feel awkward to me playing my other Strat and then picking the Knopfler up. Dont be afraid to buy online. Most of the online dealers have a 30-45 day no hassle policy on returns.
