This is my 1994 mim squier series strat bought around 6 or 7 years ago for $125. I bought it because the neck was great and the pickups were hot and punchy. It was all stock when I got it and I have slowly upgraded it. The first upgrade was a lefty USA bridge and a slip stone nut. (it does help keep it in tune with whammy use) This was done by a local luthier. I love having the whammy up top it's very comfy. Then I put a set USA vintage tuners on. Over the years I had thought about putting in new pickups but the stock pups just sounded great even with the cheap pots, switch and wiring so last week i bought a switch and pot set on ebay out of a 57ri hot rod. Here is before and after pics of the wire harness mess and the new pots and switch.
Before- This was just a mess and the pots were junk.

After- Ahh new pots, oak 5 way, and less wire. (I need and new soldering iron so i can clean off the old solder)

The new pots and switch made a big improvement on tone and noise.
