I beleive all 60th anniversaries were silver in color, and came with a gig bag that also had the emblem inbossed on it. All the fenders made in 2006 have the diamond 60th badge on the back of the headstock but this does not make them aniversary issues. I have a black mim strat made in 2006 with the 60th badge on the headstock, but this is still just a plain jane mim strat. Of course there is nothing wrong with just being a plain jane mim. Mine happens to be a wonderful built and very resonant guitar that I would not part with.

ok thanks for the info, i was not aware of the diamond emblem on all 2006 guitars.
may reconsider the purchase but will watch and see if anyone bids.
otherwise will snatch it anyway for £190

Cheers

Hi there,

I bought this guitar when it hit the market four years ago. Can't tell you how many were made. The pick-ups are the Tex-Mex version, finish in Blizzard Pearl. The neck is tinted maple, which seems rare on MIMs (although the Lonestar has it as well, and probably others). I love it - I play it more than my American Deluxe, although that may be because I keep the MIM in my living room, and I'm too lazy to walk to my bedroom for the deluxe. For the money I paid, I think it's a good value. I don't expect it to raise much in value, but its resale value is probably a bit better than standard MIMs. I'm attaching the link to Musicians Friend for this guitar - it gives the specs, as well as user reviews. Hope that helps.

This is mine.

Worth every bucks. I screwed the tremolo because I wanted it to be non floating. I tuned it to E flat and stringed it with 11s. After a while I realized that the G string had a weird sound when played around the 12th fret, or halfway. Like two G strings played at the same time but slightly detuned. I don't know if the magnets of the pickup of my guitar are too strong but I screwed them almost flush to the pickguard and it fixed this issue completely. Chet had a thread about this a while ago. Now it is a perfect guitar. Good luck with yours. :)

I believe all Fender guitars for a short time period had the 60th Anniversery plate on the back of the guitar and had a sticker. Its just a mexi-strat. Nothing else.
