I just aquired a Mexican Strat in a trade.
The serial number indicates it was probably made in 2004.
It looks like the Deluxe Roadhouse in Brown sunburst with Maple fretboard.
It has a white pickguard with noiseless pickups.
Is there any way I can determine what model this is?
The previous owner did not know anything about the guitars history.

Thanks for your help.
bob.

Post a few good close up pictures of the body, neck, head, model number and some one here will be able to help you out.

Peace,

Hi Robert, welcome to the Forum.

Here is the catalog page for Mexican Deluxe guitars:

http://www.fender.com/products/search.p ... ies=Deluxe

All those Deluxes have small but distinct differences, so you can't mistake one for another. If yours is indeed the Roadhouse then it sounds like a previous owner has changed the pickguard and pickups, as you'll see by clicking the specs tab on this page:

http://www.fender.com/products/search.p ... 0139312380

Us mere mortals don't have access to a way of determining the model of a Fender from its serial number. However, the folks in Customer Services do have that database. If you email them a description of the guitar with the serial number they will be able to tell you what it started life as.

Cheers - C

Thanks Ceri.

That is what I needed to know.
I'll let you know what I find.
I have had several Strats in the past and this is the first one I think I may bond with.
It just would be nice to know alittle about it's history.
I suspect as you say that the pickups and pickguard were changed at some time.

I sent an e-mail to Fender Comsumer Relations requesting info about the guitar.
All I gave them was the serial number.
I received a timely reply with detailed specs including the birth date.

Anyone with questions about a specific instrument should consider this.

keep on strumming.
