hi guys,

i have just bought a fender stratocaster and want to know how much it is worth but cant find out how all i have is a pat number on it wich is 3.143.028

how can i find out how much this is worth thanks

That's not going to be enough info. A serial number is important. And photographs, too.

Serial numbers are found in one of three places - front of the headstock, rear of the headstock, and engraved on the neck plate. If you don't have anything anywhere then chances are good that at least some of your guitar is not original Fender. Perhaps all.

You should also expect to find some identifying materials in the neck pocket and on the butt of the neck.

This is where the photos come in. If you can photograph the headstock, neck and neck pocket, and the neck plate, there are some people here who are very knowledgeable and willing to help out. I'm willing to help out, but my knowledge is limited.

Normal places for a Fender serial number are: front of headstock, back of headstock, back of neck by the neck pocket, on the neck plate.
