those area 58 really do scream, hey how are the virtual vintage 54 pro?

what did you think of the robert grant band?

I am really not crazy about the 54 Pro...not 'full' enough for me...a bit 'thin'. I'm thinking of swapping it for a DiMarzio Solo Pro (or whatever they're calling it now!)

Never heard of them. I WILL have to check them out now!

hey hwy, its in your youtube page, stormy monday

I Know!! After you told me ...I checked him out and LOVED his stuff....and made a few favorites!!

Nice collection....I don`t think G.A.S. ever goes away. Just when I settle into what I have, I see another one I want.

hey hwy,
i have to say, looking at your collection of hwys, they look amazing.

i only have one hwy1, one am std, one am deluxe v neck, and one cp 60s.
thats it for strat purchases for me. well i may get like a squier bullet with new pickups, to leave at work with my gdec.

forgive my ramble, but ive been thinking of this for a while.
i want to get a set of tx spcls, and a hot rails pckup.
neck and mid tx spc , hot rail bridge in my am std.
and tx spcl bridge in my cp 60s. kind of like that new custom shop strat.
i cant bring myself to change the hwy 1s pickups. i dont know if i got a few extra winds in mine, but they are smokin.
i know they are hot. i have a friend with a 08 hwy and comparing them, mine have more tone, more sustain, take gain better, better harmonics.
pickup height are basically the same, i adjusted them for him. i set it up with 10s like mine. maybe his came with alittle less windings.
however, the area 58s sound great in your vid.

guess daydreaming...

It is like a Harem how do you pick from so many beauties. Nothing wrong into putting your money into axes like that. Now if only our wives felt the same way.

So..... 7 of the SAME guitar with a few pup mods. How many of these actually get played? 2 of my gits get 90% of play time, with another 2 sharing the other 10%. Nice looking collection, but really, who needs 7 of the same guitar?

"Few pup mods??!!??" Those few pup mods basically made them whole new guitars capable of severe aural destruction!!

Clearly...you aren't aware of the clientele on this board. We (I speak collectively) LOVE Fenders!!! Plain and simple!
I am not alone in my hoarding pursuits......gaze at some of the other member's collections!! Granted...I've taken it to another level with my particular affection for ONE very special series..........

"who needs 7 of the same guitar?" Surely...you jest?!!?
If one is blessed with the required amount of expendable cash....WHY NOT??!!?
The ONLY thing "THE SAME" about these guitars is the name they bear...STRATOCASTER!
They each have their own 'sound' and vibe.
And sometimes, during practicing, I switch, 2 maybe 3 times!
They all get the love!!

Hey more power to you, I just dont see it as a very functional collection. 7 of the same series HSS HWY 1 stratocaster? I guess I would mix it up a little. I had 4 strats, and traded 2 of them for a Vox head because I didnt need (or want) 4 of the same guitar.
I play almost every day, and gig here and there, and I have 4-5 guitars that have not been touched in years. It just seems like a waste. 2 of the 4 in rotation are Fenders (strat and tele), so its not like I'm a fender hater. Guess I'm just not a collector.

I checked out your page. Awesome playing, man! You have a great collection of guitars. If I could, I would too! And I'd have a collection of snare drums too!
