In the past I have proudly posted a picture of my 6 (!!??) Highway One Stratocaster HSS's.

What can I say...I frikkin' LOOVE this series....the necks, frets, finishes/colors....and YES.....(gonna catch hell for this!)....the HUGE headstocks!!!

I was missing one color/finish to complete the ENTIRE color palette of the series...the Daphne Blue.....now discontinued for over 1 1/2 yrs.

I am proud to say.....I FOUND the missing link!!! :D :D :D

Here...in all my musical insanity :!: :!: ...is the official and COMPLETE..."Family Photo"!!

No...I'm only a little bit crazy....I 'gutted' them ALL!!
They ALL have different pickup combinations and no two sound alike!
A few are totally "Stratty" (think 'Lenny') and some are balls out rockers!

The breakdown:
(Walnut) DiMarzio Area 67(n) Area 61(m) Gibson Burstbucker 3
(Sunburst) Fender Vintage Noiseless, Gibson 57 Classic Plus
(Ebony trans.) Fender Vintage Noiseless, Gibson 498T
(Daphne Blue) Dimarzio Area 67, DiMarzio 36th Anniv. P.A.F.
(Black) Fender Vintage Noiseless, Gibson 490T
(Amber) DiMarzio Area 58, DiMarzio P.A.F.
(Wine Trans.) DiMarzio Area 58, Dimarzio 36th Anniv. P.A.F.

(Black with Tortoise) Gibson 490T , DiMarzio Area 67
(Honey Blonde) DiMarzio Air Classic, DiMarzio Area 58(n) Area 67(m)

Image

I highly recommend the DiMarzio 36th Anniv. P.A.F. for humbucker choice.
All the classic rock sounds I've ever heard on record are IN THERE!!
And I can't speak highly enough of the DiMarzio Area series!!

For the record:
I do NOT:
smoke
drink do drugs (never did)
gamble
have kids (engaged...own own home w/fiancee)
involve myself in any NEGATIVE money draining activities.

It's GOTTA go somewhere!!!!

hey hwy 1,

i would really love to hear a sound bite off of each strat.
im pretty shy about making a youtube video, because you can slice it and dice it, dissect it and resect it and criticize or mesmorize by it.
im not ready for that.
so i would understand if recording a few licks is out of the question.

would be nice though to listen to those work of arts.

Ok.....here's my YouTube page:

http://www.youtube.com/user/rich655

I haven't gotten ALL of them on there just yet....

On the opening video "Just Messin' Around".....keep in mind that I've since changed the humbucker in the Wine Trans. FROM a DiMarzio Virtual P.A.F. (didn't like...to 'twangy') TO the new 36th Anniv. P.A.F.

I am really not crazy about the 54 Pro...not 'full' enough for me...a bit 'thin'. I'm thinking of swapping it for a DiMarzio Solo Pro (or whatever they're calling it now!)

Never heard of them. I WILL have to check them out now!

I checked out your you tube site. Nice playing, nice equipment, and great dogs. :) I have the 490R and 498T in a Les Paul. What's your opinion of them?

Thanks!

The 498T is a great balls out ROCK pickup!! Not overbearing, like most ceramic based pickups. Total classic rock sound.

The 490T (bridge) is another GREAT rock pickup. Nice full chunkyness that I love...it's in the flat black Strat...my 'go to' guitar!
