Hello Everyone,

So i am working on a project guitar and i cant find a black vintage trem tip anywhere. I am putting some new pickups in my strat and wanted black knobs and switches and as silly as it is having a different color trem tip, as small as it might be it just kind of makes everything look off. Does anyone know where i can find one?

Thanks,

Shredtrix808

Hi shredtrix808: people make exact replicas of the white plastic parts offered in the '50s and '60s, aged and not aged, often for amazingly large prices. But I'm not aware of "vintage" spec black parts. Is that indeed what you are looking for - or is any black trem tip acceptable?

Cheers - C

Thank you all so much! and to answer your question Ceri I don't know if it has to be vintage... i am very new to strats. For the last 12 years i have been playing Ibanez, Jackson, or Charvel guitars so i really have no clue about a bridge that isn't floyd rose styled. i finally got an Yngwie strat which is what ive always wanted, especially since i have been scalloping my own frets for the last six years. And now after getting my strat i have fallen in love with them. My bridge is an American vintage synchronized tremolo. if that helps.

Thanks,

Shredtrix808'

Hi again Shredtrix808': then until someone corrects me I believe there is no such thing as a "vintage spec" black trem tip. I think they're all the same, so just go with one at a price you like.

By the way, you make it sound like you've done more than one scallop job. Sounds very cool. Don't know if you've noticed, but folks round here love to see threads about that sort of work. If you cared to post some pictures, especially of the step-by-step kind, I suspect you'd be met with a lot of interest and enthusiasm.

Just a thought...

Cheers man - C

Thanks Ceri! Yes I have done more than one. i think it's at around 20 scalloping jobs now. I have noticed that people around here like those threads including me! I've been following yours very closely. It is great. i cant wait for the rest. Well i have been planning on getting a MiM strat to mess around with so i will be scalloping that neck. So i think i will do a thread.

Thanks
