Howdy!

Something to keep in mind if you're not happy with your wah sound--no matter which wah you're using--is where your other pedals are placed in relation to the wah pedal.

Conventional wisdom says "pedal type x" must go before "pedal type y", however, in my rig, I put my TS9 TubeScreamer at the beginning of my signal chain (directly after the tuner)...it stays on 85% of the time, unless I'm going for a super-clean shimmering tone for some particular song.

The TS9 is going into my modulation effects (Boss RT20 Rotary Ensemble, MXR Phase 90, Original Crybaby wah) and then into all the other pedals--the seldom-used Dunlop JH2S Classic Fuzz and MXR Classic Distortion, the often-used MXR Micro Amp & MXR Carbon Copy (and an ISP Decimator G-String in front of the Carbon Copy)...

If you put an overdrive or distortion before a modulation effect, the sound is totally different--smoother and punchy-er; if you put one of them after a modulation effect, it's quacky-er and harsher.

Neither one is right or wrong, it's just different. It all goes back to what sound you want and how your picking technique, etc. affects your effects...

I'm the same way. The wah is usually at the end of my signal chain. I don't use that many effects anyway but that's usually where I put it. It's all just a matter of taste.

It's just a basic old tone sucking crybaby that I paid about $35 for about 20 years ago that I modified for true bypass. I don't really use it alot, I'm not a big wah fan.

Keep in mind also, a wah going into a fuzz pedal generally does not fly (not true with a wah into an OD or dist.). The Coloursound is the exception. I generally agree with a wah at the end of the chain-it is a little smoother. Olivesk, if you can find an old Coloursound (or a 90s reissue) you will be overjoyed.
