I'm looking at one the 60s MIM Strat's from '03. What is the difference between them and the new Classic Players edition, same thing? What all years did they make these? I've read some great reviews on them (assuming they were talking about the early 2000's). I think I read somewhere than one of the Custom Shop guys designed them, is that correct?

Classic Series 60's they started in 1999

Classic Series has vintage-style single-coil pickups and a C neck, 7.25 R .

The Classic PLAYERS is the "Custom Shop design" started
7-2006

It has Custom Shop '69 pickups, C neck, 12" radius

That's the main difference.


Both are still being mfc.'d

Is $420 a good price for a nice one?

That's quite fair, not a steal but worth it.

They are $700 new.

Those vintage pickups sound GREAT. Very vintage Stratocaster.
