No, they aren't stainless.

So, if not stainless, what are they made of?

I don`t know what those are made of ? I put some SS on my strat. They look a little bit more shiny and smooth than yours.

What a nice strat you have there.

I think it's called powdercast....metal that starts as a powder and is formed under pressure to create parts. Trem blocks were made using this technique for a while as well.....

Nice Strat. Love to own that one!!!!!

I sure those saddles are made of steel and then they are powder coated, thus they end up with a name that is called "Brushed Steel."

My son works for a powder coating facility in Walla Walla, WA. They build and powder coated wine racks. They take the steel parts and the coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin" that has the soft fuzzy look to it. he has been getting a lot of powder coating done on his high performance Nissan 240SX.

Allparts sells them ( http://www.allparts.com/Stratocaster-Br ... 40-000.htm )

Wow Xhefri, considering the collection you have, coming from you, that's a genuine compliment on my Strat! I spotted her on the madison Wi craigslist just a few weeks ago, turns out the lady who owned her, mostly kept her in the case all these years, and it shows. She graced me with a $600 deal, and i'll never be the same! Boy, what i have been missing! What a sweet neck too! That slick satin finish, combined with the excellent fret work, good neck relief, and action height makes for one smooth playing experience! The previous pics i posted show the inca silver finish having a green hue, due to flourescent lighting i believe, here's some pics under incandescent light, where the silver appears to be more correct. Regarding the saddle question, I'm sure that you are right on, (as usual) about the powder coating, and i remember reading something that mentioned powder coating on the American standard strat saddles. Thanks again xhefri, and you others who took the time to add something. Cheers!
