Hello,

iam sorry about my englisch knwoledge, but iam from germany and hope to get some help from you people.

A few months ago my father died and passes on a fender stratocaster on to me.

Now im asking myself, what kind of stratocaster i mean what type he passes on to me.

So my question is, where can i find the number or something else which identifies my electric guitar?

There´s just a serial number on the top which is s931397.

i'll post a image soon.

thank you for helping me
greats

Does it have the large headstock?

The s/n indicates :

Your guitar was made at the
Fullerton Plant (Fender - CBS Era), USA
in the Year(s): 1978 - 1981

Yes, that looks like a late '70s/early '80s "standard" Stratocaster. Here are a couple of your images. It sure has some interesting wear on it.

Yes, I wouldn't mind owning that.

To the original poster: if you remove the neck and look under the pickguard, you will find all kinds of numbers. There are codes there that would help date it more precisely. So if you care to take a look, be sure to write down the numbers you find and post them here for us to decifer! Cheers!
