I have the serial no. O020796
it has a bullet truss rod adjuster and I think the large headstock, but there were a few models made. there was some tape inside the case/packing saying st71 140 yjm but I do not know if this is correct is there a way to tell.?

is there a list of yjm models or a good reference. I love this guitar and would like to know as much as possible about it.
wish i could get original pars for my model that would have been in the case.
will try and post pics tomorrow if that helps. best wishes.....paul

Try google Fender Japan and a lot of sites come up. Here is one of many.

yeah have looked at a lot of sites but it is still difficult to tell the actual model
mine is a Crafted in japan which makes it 97-2000 for year which it was made, I guess if they only made certain ones between 97 - 2000 that would narrow it down to a 60s or 70s type.

There are a couple of models,

the ST-68 YM:

The ST-72 YM:

There is also a ST-71 YM. I dont know the exact difference between the 71 and the 72 but im sure they will be minimal. Note the absence of the bullet on the ST-68.

Japanese Quality outrivals the mexican models- I wish Mexico made similar models/combinations to CIJ. :D

Your very lucky to own that guitar- not too many of them outside Japan
