I really dig daddario XL 115 11-49. They're a good mid price range string plus the enviro packing is nice. Although they tend to lose their tone fairly fast.

I using Ernie Ball Slinky's, 10's and 11's. Great strings, inexpensive, and last a long time. I love the Cleartone's on my acoustic, but holy cow, $18 after tax for one set of strings is a lot. I'd love to put them on the Strat or Les Paul, but I play those too much to risk breaking a string...

Is it the strings or your fingers that have the tone??? :P

I use Ernie Ball Slinky 10's for my electrics. They stay bright fairly long and they bend smoothly. Also, they dont break as often as some of the other brands I've played on (ie: fender, Dean Markley, and Elixer). I use D'Addario's on my acoustic for the price. I play acoustic gigs three days and week and electric just two. The D'Addarios are only $5 a pack and I can afford to change them on a weekly or bi weekly basis.

I use ernie ball hybrid slinky 9,11,16,26,36,46 custom gauge, nickel wound strings #2222. MADE IN U.S.A. I love to bend notes with ease and not lose the tone I try to achieve. I use their 10's ( pink pack ) on the guitar I set up for slide.

i'm currently using dunlops on my fender strat and epi less paul similar to ernies, just in a 2 for 1 pack, in a 10-46 gauge and d'addarios on my acoustic. the electric dadario strings just don't seem very bright to me..

D'addario 9's on my Strats. D'addario 10's on the Les Paul. They almost feel the same as 9's with the shorter scale Les Paul neck. Martin acoustic strings on the Martin.

I played D'Addario 9's for about ten years before changing over to Ernie Ball Super Slinky's. I've recently changed again, to the Ernie Ball coated Slinky 9's. Same tone, same feel, just longer life. I use them on everything but my Stratsonic. I find that the Fender pure nickel wrap 9's work really well with that guitar's P-90's.

When I bought my strat in 1997 the msuic store started me on Ernie Balls. I didn't know any different until I started trying other brands and found out that other brands don't corrode so quickly (my hands sweat a bit).

I've tried every mainstream brand and I wint play anything other than DR strings. They cost more, but they last forever so they dont really cost more. They bend easier and have the best tone. I use the plain ol' tight fits. I get the 10 - 46 set and replace the 10 with a 9.5 that I also order from juststrings. I don't understand why those sets come with 10s since it is disproportionately harder to bend the 10, compared to the others.

Someone posted that they heard of intonation issues... when I had a setup done on my guitar, when I told him it had DRs on it he said that he was going to have to put a set of D Addarios on it because DRs can have intonation issues due to being handmade. I've never really noticed anything wrong... well, maybe one time _ever_, before I knew about the issue.
Regardless, nothing sounds like DRs and I cant play anything else.

D Addarios break really quickly for me (I use 1.0mm picks), but they sound pretty nice until they break (which doesn't take long). :)
