well if 500 max if i get 500$ dollar amp i will need to save up for a while like work alot or something. but if i know what i want it will motivate me. if i dont get a tube amp i guess thats fine. i just want to sound good, i have an SG wich is my main guitar. and i want to switch pickups in it. but i heard that my pickups were fine and that i need a new amp tand i guess that makes since. so for under 500 what could i get solid state wise or tube wise?

A Blues Deville for $350 is a low price. But everyone has noted that this amp has been gigged hard. That doesn't necessarily mean that it's not a good deal. The things that go wrong on tubes amps are usually tubes and speakers. Both can be replaced easily.

So you've got your plussess and minuses. But if you do buy it, you should assume that you will probably have to replace some components eventually.

Make sure it's in good playing condition if you buy it.

i have this amp, but i have the reissue with blue celestion speakers.
but have in mind, is a LOUD amp. if you guys practice in a small garage, beware. if you want that sound of tubes breaking up, be prepared to maybe nail som boards back on the garage wall, cause this baby will blow them off. if not, just use the drive channel. not exactly the same, but it'll get the job done.
anyway, i love the amp!

my apologies of there are any misspellings in here, english isn't my first language.

This is way more than loud. Its up there near twin level.Unless you have a place to play it,cuz the volume knob goes from a whisper to breaking glass with just a twitch.I am not kidding. You will not be able to play this at home unless your neighbors and household members are deaf.

volume on 0-1.5 nothing, 2-12 about the same. i usually use a distortion-pedal with this, but lately i have been using the drive-channel.
can get some pretty bluesy sounds out of it with the drive on about 3 and the master somewhere between 2 and 3.
thats the setting that works best for me. currently im playing a '79 or '80 hagstrom super swede with humbuckers, pretty thick and bassy sound, i don't how it works with, say a strat, since its got single-coils.
if its not to far away, i say you go for a drive and try it out.
