Here's my take....I own all the Area series pickups in several guitars and if I had to build a SSS format Stratocaster from all my knowledge.....I'd go:

Bridge: Virtual Solo (DP-420)
Middle: Area 67 (DP-419)
Neck: Area 67 (DP-419)

I've found the 58's sometimes are a bit farty in the neck and the 61's....I just don't like...I'm switching them out soon!

I had good luck with a VV 54 Pro in the bridge and Area 67s in the neck and middle.

The VV 54 Pro worked out really well in the bridge because it's little fuller sounding than the Area 58 or 61 and it's bright but not too bright.

The Area 67 in the middle produces excellent "quack" when combined with the bridge pickup and it also sounds great all but itself.

The Area 67 in the neck mixes beautifully with its clone in the middle and performs very well by itself in the neck.

I am perfectly comfortable playing metal, rock, blues and and country with that pickup combination in my Strat.

My favorite combination (after much experimentation with all the area pickups) is

67 Neck (To me this is the perfect neck pickup. If you do anything put this in the neck)

61 Middle (This gives the middle a bit more mids and makes it obviously different sounding than the neck pickup. They quack real nice together too)

Heavy Blues 2 Bridge (This pickup is heavy on the bass and fills out the bridge to make it fatter sounding while still sounding like a bridge pickup)

Again, if anything try the 67 in the neck.
