I have been with my wife for 33 years since I was 15 and she would care less if Eddie Vanhalen was playing in my living room let alone me.lol The only person that ever made her walk in the room and sit down and go WHO IS THAT was SRV Live at the El Mocambo. She actually watched the whole thing and then said he is the greatest player in the world. And believe me every great you can think of has been blasted through my house over the years. He was super human and talk about playing from the heart. Gone but never forgotten.

My wife is the same, SRV is the only musician that we both like. We even had "Lenny" playing when we walked down the isle.

To me Southern Rock Blues played by SRV is nothing to the true Blues artist of the past. And I seen SRV live as well as John Lee Hooker and Bobby Blue Bland to name a few which do you think are true Blues artist to me

+1 I saw John Lee Hooker at the Chestnut Cabaret in Phila years ago. It was a small club and I got to stand 3 feet away from him. He was seriously awesome and a real gentleman too. I got to chat with David Honeyboy Edwards too.The last of the original Bluesmen.

SRV was talented but not close to original. He is a mix of all his guitar heroes. Jimmy is actually the original one. I'm a huge SRV fan, but first and foremost I'm a Blues fan. How about the late Koko Taylor?
And thats the Blues my Friend!!!! That's where I am coming from when I here someone say SRV is the best Blues Vocalist and Guitarist ever I think they don't have a clue as to what BLUES music is.
