Happy New Year Guy's. I'm going to buy a Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster for that Blues sound and those hot Texas Pick ups. I was also looking at a Fender Deluxe Players Stratocaster. These are all Mexican made but which one has the better build and tone out of these two. Also do you think Fender will redo this line with either a new color or pick up configuration. and if so can any of you with these guitars post some pics. Thanks

Bobby.w,

First let me welcome you to the Forum.

You pose a very subjective question there. Both guitars are excellent. I guess the real question is which on will you think is better when you get to the shop. I am partial to the Roadhouse. But the Deluxe Players offers more pickup configurations. The Roadhouse has Texas Specials (which I absolutely love) while the Deluxe Players offers Vintage Noisless pickups.

Personally I would go with the Lone Star Stratocaster. (just throwing another choice into the mix) Texas Specials in the neck and middle and a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates Humbucker in the bridge.

Again something you'll have to decide for yourself. Good luck with your search. Let us know which one you decide on. Pics would be nice as well. (LOL)

IMO you just cannot go wrong with any Fender Deluxe Stratocaster model.

Although it's completely subjective, as has already been noted - I have to vote for the Deluxe Strat.

Just my two cents worth.

Definitely the Road House. I am not a big fan of the DP ... the gold or the pups. Just my opinion. The Roadhouse is an awesome guitar.

Thanks rkreisher. I will also check out the Lone Star. How awesome is that Humbucker on that strat? I'm after the Stevie Ray Vaughan sound Can I get that with Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates Humbucker and the Two Texas pickups?

The SRV Strat has the 3 SC Texas Specials. The Roadhouse is the closest without actually getting the SRV Stratocaster. If you can, just play all the models you can, focusing on the Deluxe players, Roadhouse, and Lone Star Strats. I think your guitar will let itself be known.

Personally I like the fatter tones a humbucker can provide in the bridge position. If memory serves me correctly, SRV plays the hell out of his Neck and Middle pickups anyways.
