There's a firestorm finish strat plus on ebay if any of you guys are interested, expensive though.

He says it's an ultra, but doen't look like an ultra to me, looks like maybe a deluxe strat plus, with the saddles swapped out.

Here's a link

http://cgi.ebay.com/FENDER-STRAT-PLUS-U ... 20aecd6f34

I like this deluxe better myself.

I guess someone could change the bridge saddles back and then call it "original", but it's not going to be me.

If it was an ultra it would have chrome tuners and chrome roller nut, and a red dually in the bridge.

I like the finish on the pics on xhefri's site, but other pics I've seen of this finish always make it look really dark. So I wonder how it really looks.

My deluxe is almost identical to the second one. White pickguard instead of the pearloid. I still think it's my favorite finish Fender put out. They really did a good job at blue-bursting into the transparency.

In real life, it is an AWESOME finish. I have only seen one in my life. It was the tele plus w/ rosewood and had a trem. I think the store had it priced at like $1800. It was a '91.

I think the picts of the Firestorm are justshot in poor lighting as almost all of these that I have seen are fairly close to the same. This one is a Strat Plus DX and not an Ultra.

Funny I am watching the transparent Blue Pearl Dust. My player guitar is just like it with Maple and an Ultra setup using Green/Green and Dually Purple. Those are some of the newly released Lace Sensor pickups.

what do you think of:

Seems like if this was ordered from Fender it would still have the Chrome tuners and nut...makes me wonder if someone did not just change the neck....

Someone used the buy it now to buy that blue one I posted a link to. So anyone here snag it from me? ;) Just kidding, I couldn't of bought it.

That one with the bird inlays is pretty interesting. I don't think I would want it though. Price doesn't seem that bad though. Wonder what you would get for the neck if you sold it seperate and bought a strat plus neck.

I have seen the bird inlay Strat on eBay several times and the price keeps coming down. I think it has to really take someone's fancy...does not do much for me.

This Strat Plus is close to me, the guy has it on the local craigslist for $800, but it's been on there a long time. He had it on Ebay for more too but just lowered the price.

http://cgi.ebay.com/1996-Fender-Strat-S ... 2304ab56a6

Here's the local ad

http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/msg/1509262042.html

Laquer on the fretboard is coming off though. If I didn't buy that deluxe strat a few weeks ago, I was going to go look at this one, since they were the same price, but the deluxe was in good shape, and came with an amp, so seemed like a better deal.

It would like pretty sweet with some chrone domes in it though ;)

Well Jeff, do you think this should be the one to go for? :?

I'm a bit concerned about the worming on the neck which the guy referred to - do you think it could be a big problem?

Cheers & Happy New Year

Tony

The sunburst doesnt extend down the belly contour on the back of this strat- weren't they meant to? as a strat with no veneer- im a little suspect of the body :P

That one w/ the bird inlays has been on ebay at least 3x now. Personally I hate the birds on it. I'm sure they are just decals. I didn;t read the description

Xhefri...which Lace pups have the most sustain for the bridge position? I have only had Fender LS blue and red at the bridge. I recently found out about all the ones that are under the Lace name. I want to replace the stock pups in my 2001 Am Std strat.

Well, it has a different serial number on the head stock. But know that I look at who the seller is, that guy bought something from me onm Ebay, can't remember what though. I'll have to look it up. Could be that neck.

Yeah the guy bought that maple neck from me, mine had sperzel tuners though, so I guess he used the tuners from the other neck. Someone should ask him if that's the original neck and see what he says.
