I have bought quite a few used Fender Strats over the last 25 years, and I have a question. Why is it that the original tremelo bar for the guitar is always missing?? How come these used Strats are without it?? Shouldn't it be in the case, with the guitar?? But NO!! They are always missing, MIA, gone, lost, minus bar, without whammy thing!!!
Is there a big huge pile of Fender whammy bars somewhere that missing bars go?? Is the photo of said bar on the side of any milk carton? does the missing bar have it's photo hung up in the post office? Is there some kinda reward system for reuniting missing bars with their rightful owners??
I think about this stuff...............

There isn't one big pile of whammy bars. I believe they are all over, for example:

My local music store has a box full of whammy bars.

I saw it. The guy pulled it out from the back room to find me a pop-in version.

Mustangs have this problem as well.
The screw that holds in the bar works loose, gets lost and the bar could get lost.
Mine's in a drawer.
I wish Fender sold the little screws.

Orville is right. I bought a used Wolfgang in Sam Ash early in the year and they did not have the bar for the Floyd and the idiot manager pulled out a box of bars from behind the counter and tried to screw in the bar to a Strat until I yelled dont worry about it and got on from Peavey for $6.99

Whew...thanks, I thought it was just me that had this issue. Who do you have to know to get a whammy bar for an American Deluxe strat around here? I've been back to Guitar Center three times to get one, getting the wrong one each time. Okay, rant over - all better now. :)

how about this: i have three whammy bars and two strats! one whammy is bent by the threads so that one doesn't work, the other two are odd lengths making them hard to use PLUS only one of them fits in one of the strats! so it wheather i can find it or not. i really don't know how i ended up with three trem arms tho

I don't use one, I do the old pull up on the bridge with my finger tips thing.

However the one for my 50th is safe in the case, I do have a few laying around from past strats that I didn't find till after they were sold to someone else.

A few case key sets too

Tons of different color tone and volume knobs and amp jewels and...........

Man I've got a lot of Fender junk around here !!!!!!!!!!!

Mine all stay in the cases, however, I bought a used CIJ Jazzmaster without the trem arm. I cannot find one that fits. :x

I have one strat and the trem arm is in it unless I am going somewhere...then I take it out and once I get to the studio or the gig...it goes back in. When I was young I used to beat up my trem arms really bad...now as I have aged(LOL) I love to use it for nice shimmering/ vibrato effect...no more of the Stuka dive bombs...LOL :D
