Yeah, let alone Neal Schon's. Sorry ... I am a Neal "disliker". I think the guy is wayyyy over rated. Just my personal opinion. Oh, he's an $@!, too; I met him in Marin County a long time back.

Well, here's a Fender Custon shop Neil Schon Strat. Said he played it on tour in 2005-2007.

Pickups are interesting. I guess they're flipped around and the bridge pickups are slanted the other way.

I have a 60s reverse headstock strat with the same pickup configuration. Reverse pole pieces and reverse slanted bridge pickup. To me it accentuates all the famouse chararctaristics of the "strat" tone. The brights are brighter the cleans are cleaner the bass is more intense and iv you crank the mids it brings out the natural dirt and crunch of the pickups. If ya get my drift?

Well as luck would have it, I've heard the old "Neal Schon only uses Les Pauls" argument before. Nothing wrong with that argument, he usually does. But there's one song that you can only get the "Neal Schon Tone" on using our beloved Fender Stratocaster. That song is Journey's "Lights" and I just happened to do a blog post of a video featuring Neal himself playing that song on a Fender Stratocaster. So Renegade, there is a Neal Schon tone that you can only get on your Strat!

Check it out here: Neal Schon playing Lights on a Fender Stratocaster
