I'm not even going to waste my time getting into this one. The OP will get five hundred different answers on what equipment Shone uses and none of them will do nothing but waste the OP's time and money.

You got into it and wasted your time when you decided to offer advice suggesting he forget trying to sound like Shon and just play any old gear. All Im saying is that the guy identified a sound he likes and was wondering how to get there.

Nobody suggested any such thing. You just like to start arguments. Just don't read my threads if they bother you that much and get off my back.
I think I'll join the ranks of SlapChop and thouston.

Thanks for the link on the custom shop. I'll look at the specs in a bit. As for everyone else, I'm not trying to be exact to the dot on Schon's sound, I just like that area of sound and tone. If I wanted the exact sound I would have asked if anyone was selling Neal Schon LP's. Thanks for all the feedback though.

So I have a Stratocaster and I'm looking to replace the pickups in it to try and emulate Neal Schon's sound and tone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You might as well ignore all the irrelevant yadayadayada. This is not the first time we've addressed a question like this around here. It's like an irreverent mother-in-law. Always around or turning up when least expected.

You've obviously listened to enough of Schon to realize that it's his rig...all the elements in his signal chain which translates what the hands and the guitar feed it. You're likely also going to need a Floyd Rose bridge in the guitar as well.

There's a feature article in a 2009 issue of either Guitar Player or Premiuim Guitar on him and his new signature LP if that's any help. And the pic posted herein, though it's the first I've seen of it, looks like a badass axe but likely one in a series of steps along the way of Schon's own personal search. Now it's a Gibson LP.

BigJay cites SRV. Rightly so in what he said. Remember as well all the time spent with the late Cesar Diaz fleshing out that signal chain and amp combinations. It's essentially Albert King on steroids with some Hendrix thrown in for good measure. But that's what he heard in his head.

Not only do you need to go the time and expense to put together the gear, but the technique and expression are another story. That's what it's all about whether it's Schon, or Knopfler, Clapton, Gilmour, Santana, Hendrix, SRV, EVH, and on and on....i.e.anyone with a signature sound. Their's did not come in an instant. It evolved.

Welcome to the quest for the holy grail of tone. It don't come easy. :?

Good hunting.

Now there's an idea....

Hope 63 comes back. Maybe you didn't like him, but I know he helped a lot of folks both on the forum and privately. He personally helped me out when I had a problem my HRDlx and saved me yet another trip to the tech. He didn't have to but he did. Did you forget you told the OP to buy a nice LP? You seem to have some sort of negative comment every time he posts something. Oh, and I do agree the OP won't get Schon's tone no matter what equipment he uses. It's much more involved than that.

.......and on, and on, and on, and on, ad infinitum :?
