Hey folks...
Nice to be here...
I have a question about the SRV Strat. I have e-mailed Fender and they have not responded, so I thought id take it to the masses.

What is the final word on the year?...Is it a 1959 body & a 1963 neck?
If so, then my SRV's neck/body is made to the specs of 63 & 59..right?

Its an amazing guitar!

Is it a Signature Model or a Replica of Number One?

I would say that it's probably made from modern parts, then.

The controversy over the year his parts actually were, is no big deal, the dates on his parts don't lie (or do they? Only Fender knows). Seems like the only thing people really cared about was the specs to his pickups.

Whether or not the signature was made from the same specs as his 59'/63' specs is another question. His guitar had a big neck, so naturally Fender gives the signature a big neck. SRV's neck was changed a couple of times throughout it's life because of accidents and also refrets were no longer possible, but the original #1 neck was supposed to have been put back on his guitar after he died. The question is: "Did Fender use their 59 specs? Or did they use SRV's "rare" specs? It probably wouldn't have done any good to measure his neck because it was so worn out. My guess is they just used the specs they have from a big 59' neck.

Unless somebody is hiding information (I don't know why), then your signature is as close to the 59'/63' specs as it could possibly get.

Just my opinion though.
