Hi,

I'm going to buy an america deluxe strat and just wanted some opinions on them.

I have two choices it's either:-

Fender American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster - Aged Cherry Burst - Maple

or

Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster - 3-Colour Sunburst - Maple

I am leaning towards the Ash bodied guitar but would like opinions as I am no expert when it comes to different types of wood etc

Cheers

i think the age cherry burst looks pretty cool but i also
like the classic look of the 3 color sunburst. i would go with the 3 color sunburst.

Aged Cherry burst for me. Of course color is secondary to me. The one that sounds and feels best with the most natural sustain and mojo to me is the one I ultimately pick.

If the grain in the Ash was attractive, I'd go with it.

I would go for the Ash myself, although I personally would go for a tobacco sunburst myself :)

Cherry looks good though :D

I would play both till you decide which sounds and feels best to you.

As several have stated go with the one that feels best. That being said mine is a cherry sunburst from the early 80's. It looks great but the reason I bought it was how it felt.

+1

I've had Strats with heavy northern ash and some with lighter swamp ash. These days I like ash for my Teles and alder for my Strats.

I appreciate the cherry burst...I really do..but I am soo into the classic 3 color sunburst. My next strat is going to be that with a rosewood neck. But, that is just me...you have to get what you really want and love!! Good luck and please post some pics when you get your new beauty.
